The East Bay practicum directory, annotated.
In short
Which East Bay sites were taking practicum students for 2026-27?
Every published entry in the chapter's directory annotated with the statutes, every site link fetched, every claim dated
21 sites, 3 hire associatesEast Bay CAMFT publishes a real practicum-site directory for the 2026–27 training year — the per-site facts no state or federal file holds: who was accepting students, hours, supervision form, populations, school MOUs, prerequisites, and a named contact for every site. This page carries all 21 published entries, with the 15 August 2026 read date on every claim, each site link fetched before publication. The listing is the chapter’s work; the annotation, dating and statute frame are this site’s.

What this list is, and is not
One chapter’s list, annotated. Not the whole market. This is a curated, named-site directory, and it is not exhaustive. It reprints one source: East Bay CAMFT’s public Practicum Site Directory for the 2026–27 training year, read 15 August 2026. A chapter directory lists the sites that chose to file an entry with the chapter — nothing about the sites that did not. The full universe of settings a trainee may lawfully work in is the companion page, the Bay Area practicum settings directory.
The frame is the trainee’s, and the law draws it: a practicum student may not work in a private practice or a professional corporation at all — BPC §4980.43.3(b). Three entries below say they also hire registered associates; that fact matters for a different reader at a different stage, and it is broken out separately so nobody mistakes an associate job for a practicum seat.
Every acceptance status below is the directory’s own statement at the 15 August 2026 read. The chapter’s page is live and filterable and will drift; re-check it before contacting anyone. One count to have straight: the directory’s own counter said “Showing all 22 sites” while 21 entries carried published details at that read — this page prints the 21.

The directory in one table.
Status, mode and hours are the directory’s published values at the 15 August 2026 read. “Not stated” means the directory carries no value — it is a finding about the entry, not a blank. A site name links to the website the entry publishes; two entries publish none, and say so below. BBS-compliant is the directory’s own flag, printed as stated.

Everything below is transcribed from the same East Bay CAMFT entry, same 15 August 2026 read date. The school-MOU line is worth reading first: if your program is named, the written site agreement BPC §4980.42(e) requires may already exist, and that is weeks of lead time you do not have to spend.

A different reader, a different stage
The three entries that hire registered associates.
A practicum seat and an associate job are different legal objects: the trainee bar on private practice — BPC §4980.43.3(b) — lifts only once the associate registration is issued. Three of the 21 entries state, in the directory itself at the 15 Aug 2026 read, that they hire registered associates. The wider associate market is its own directory, and the clock rules are on the 90-day rule page.
| Site | Practicum students | Associates |
|---|---|---|
| Bonita House | Yes — accepting at the 15 Aug 2026 read | Also hires associates, per the directory |
| Rose Marriage and Family Therapy | A practicum site, but not accepting at the 15 Aug 2026 read | Also hires associates, per the directory |
| Calliope Coast Therapy Group | No — associates only, not open to practicum students, and the directory flags it as not BBS-compliant as a practicum entry | Hires associates only — that is the whole entry |
Calliope Coast’s distinction is the directory’s own framing and worth repeating: it is not a practicum site. A trainee cannot use it; a registered associate can ask.
The order that saves you cycles
How to use a curated list.
A site whose MOU list names your school is weeks closer than an identical site that would need a new agreement — BPC §4980.42(e) puts the written site agreement on the school, and an existing MOU means that work may be done.
Every acceptance value on this page carries the 15 August 2026 read date. The chapter’s page is live and filterable; re-read the directory itself before writing to a contact, and expect drift — a directory that was honest in August is not a promise about January.
This page is curated, not complete. The lawful universe is on the settings directory, and the method page walks the search itself — whose job the placement is at your kind of program, and the questions that sort sites quickly.
Employee or volunteer, never a 1099; no private practice for trainees at all; enrollment and the school’s agreement before hours count. The full trainee rules are on the practicum page.

The statutes
Every claim on this page is dated 15 August 2026 and will drift. The directory is the chapter’s living document; this page is a read of it, not a replacement for it. Acceptance status, hours and contacts change without notice, “Not stated” means the entry carries no value, and nothing here is legal or career advice. Site links were each fetched on 15 Aug 2026; one (the county site) blocks scripted fetches and is carried on its long-verified link.
